Families, schools and organisations can enquire about transport for a passenger with special educational needs or a disability. The conversation is about that person and that journey, not a generic school run.
Where a regular arrangement is requested, we talk through how pickups would work and what should happen if plans change. A particular driver or vehicle is confirmed only when it has been agreed.
Tell us what the passenger needs and we will say whether a suitable vehicle is available. If a requirement cannot be met, we say so.
Related enquiries are covered under school transport, local authority transport and care transport.
Passenger dignity
Journeys are discussed privately with the family or organisation. Details are not published.
Consistency
Regular travel is planned so the passenger knows what to expect, as far as the arrangement allows.
Communication
We agree who to contact and how changes should be passed on.
Honest availability
If a requirement cannot be met, we say so rather than imply that every vehicle is suitable.
